We supported and assisted in the publication of the book "Dreamer and fighter" – A collection of personal diaries written by Amati, who fell in battle on the northern border.
Amaty was a squad leader in Battalion 75, Golan Assault Brigade (7), aged 24 when he fell. Resident of Tel Aviv, son of Rabbi Tamir (19) and Avivit Granot Fallen on the 30th day of Tishrei, 5784 (October 15, 2023)
Ami Granot, may his memory be blessed, fell in battle on the northern border, leading his soldiers with rare responsibility and courage. Ami was a respected commander, a wise student, and a sensitive and profound person.
Since the age of eighteen, he has kept personal diaries. In them, he explored his life, his values, and the meaning of his existence. Only after his death did his parents find the diaries, which revealed the character of a gentle Israeli youth, a brave fighter, and an inspiring commander. Through the lines of the diaries, his rich world was revealed—insights about life, the army, Torah, freedom, love, and meaning.
His father, Rabbi Tamir Granot, added his own explanations and thoughts, creating a moving dialogue between father and son, between past and present, and between pain and hope. In his words: "We discovered that through the diaries, we are able, as we promised, to transform pain into love and life—without skipping over the pain."
With the assistance of the organization "L'Zachor Le'Olam" (Remember Forever), a living memorial project was established to disseminate Amati's writings and make them accessible to the general public. The project seeks to turn his words into a way of life – a source of inspiration for young people, soldiers, parents, and educators.
