His Memory
We assisted the Levy family with the expenses of bringing in the Torah scroll and hosting the festive meal. The event included a moving procession through the streets of the city, singing and dancing in honor of the Torah, and touching words of remembrance from family members and friends. The meal that followed allowed the community to gather and strengthen each other in his memory.
On October 7, 2023, Staff Sergeant Yakir Levi, may his memory be blessed, fell in battle at the Paga outpost. Yakir, a fighter and commander in the Golani Brigade's 13th Battalion, fought bravely alongside his soldiers for hours under heavy fire, demonstrating courage, determination, and responsibility toward his subordinates. Thanks to him and his comrades, many lives were saved on that difficult morning.
Before his enlistment, Yakir served in the Eitan preparatory program, an educational institution where he was taught the values of love of country, commitment to the people, and deepening one's understanding of Torah and the meaning of life. He was an inspiring figure—a wise student, a young leader, and a beloved friend. Even in death, he left behind a legacy of faith, courage, resourcefulness, and love for the Jewish people.
As part of his commemoration, a special Torah scroll was brought to the Eitan preparatory program – the place where he grew and strengthened, and to which he was deeply connected.
The Torah scroll was written with great care, out of a sense of mission to continue his path and connect the worlds of spirit and action.
The event included an emotional ceremony to bring in the Torah scroll and a large family celebration., attended by family members, friends, fellow soldiers, and colleagues—all of whom came to pay their respects to Yaki's life and legacy.
The entire event was accompanied by an atmosphere of unity, love, and pain—a moment of connection between the sacred and life, and between memory and action.
